Teaching scheme

IP meeting. Six master students from each of the five institutions will meet for a period of 12 working days in an interdisciplinary meeting at The Jagiellonain University. Classes and seminars will be taught by professors from the participating institutions.
This Intensive Programme is on the set list of optional courses for 6 ECTS

The IP Meeting consists of the following parts:

CPM: Series of lectures (3 hours per day) on relevant concepts, principles and methodologies;

CDP: Series of seminars (3 hours per day) on case studies, discussions and draft papers. The seminar classes are structured according to the Think - Pair - Share method, involving three forms of participation: - preparing an argument (15 min); - testing the analysis in communication with one colleague student (30 min); - engaging in group discussion (75 min).

PTA: Performance Tasks and Assignments (2 hours per day) for library work, writing and presentation

For staff: Supervision, editing and reporting (3 hours per day, average) for discussing and composing Methodology Module CD-ROM (for teachers).

Exam

Follow-up will be at the home universities. The programme assigns a final paper to each student, to be written during and after the meeting under the supervision of a teacher from the home university. Students submit final drafts 2 weeks after the meeting to Jagiellonian University by PDF-attachment to e-mail. The papers are marked by 2 teachers from (different) foreign departments. The teachers at the home university of the students make the final decision on the marks, on the basis of their judgment of overall performance of the student and the criteria in the department.
